Most luggage wheel bearings use a bearing with a 6mm ID (6mm inner diameter) or axle size within a standard 608 bearing size. The standard 608 bearing size comes with an 8mm bore (ID), a 22mm diameter (OD) and 7mm width. The original bearings found on almost all original luggage types are lower/cheaper grades and ungraded. The wheels in this listing use Premium ABEC 9 graded bearings with bushings that are much more precise, which simply means that they can take a higher weight load and roll much smoother. ABEC stands for Annular Bearing Engineering Committee, the committee that rates bearings all over the world. In this system, the scale uses odd-numbered levels 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9, with 9. The higher this number is, the tighter the tolerance of the bearing and the better the degree of precision of the bearing. These wheels come with nylon bushings 8mm OD to 6mm ID that fits in the bearings for the 6mm axle, this provides a superior and quieter roll. You can remove the bushings if you require an 8mm axle. Note: 6 mm axles come in stainless steel socket hex cap screws (5mm head) in 40 or 50 mm lengths, black steel socket hex cap screws (5 mm head) in 40 or 50 mm lengths and in black steel button head screws (4 mm head) in 40 or 50 mm lengths with snap cap covers or hinged cap screw covers (see attached photos).
